I’m Anna, a clothing designer, maker and creative based between London and the South East of Kent, with more than 20 years’ experience working in costume and garment design.

My career has taken me from designing and making costumes professionally to teaching the technical side of garment making at the University for the Creative Arts, where I was a technical tutor for five years. Along the way, I’ve developed a deep love for the craft of making, and for sharing the knowledge that helps people turn an idea, or a beautiful piece of fabric into something of their own.

I specialise in pattern drafting, garment construction and the technical skills that sit behind beautifully made clothes. I believe that once you understand how clothes are put together, sewing becomes much more intuitive, creative and enjoyable. It gives you the freedom to move beyond commercial patterns, make thoughtful adjustments and eventually create your own designs from scratch.

My courses in Broadstairs, the South East of Kent, are relaxed, practical and welcoming. I teach in small groups so there’s plenty of time for individual guidance, questions and hands-on learning, whether you’re picking up a sewing machine for the first time or looking to take your existing skills further.

For me, it’s about more than simply learning to sew. It’s about understanding the art of garment making, building your confidence and discovering the satisfaction of making something with your own hands, always going the extra mile for a beautiful result.
