Weekly Classes
These classes run weekly on Fridays, with the option to attend for a full day, a morning or an afternoon, depending on class availability. This is where you can bring along your own project, whether you’re working from a commercial pattern that you’d like to make or adapt, or you have a new pattern idea that you’d like to draft to your exact measurements.
If you’re a complete beginner and simply want to get started, we begin with Beginner Sewing Sampling. This introduces you to a selection of essential seam and construction techniques, supported by easy-to-follow handouts. The full course is a great way to build a broad range of sewing skills, helping you develop both your confidence and your ability to work independently. As part of the weekly Friday classes, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn alongside more experienced sewers, sharing techniques and inspiration as you go.
Taster Session
Book a Friday taster session on a morning or afternoon of your choice, subject to availability. All abilities are welcome to come and experience the classes. Bring your own sewing project or, if you’re new to sewing, try one of our simple taster projects and learn the basics with support from Anna.
You’ll have full use of the studio’s facilities and equipment, with guidance throughout the session. It’s a relaxed way to experience the classes, build your confidence and see if they’re right for you, with no commitment to book further sessions.
Masterclasses
I also hold themed workshop days, usually once a month or every few months, focusing on learning specific sewing techniques and skills. Previous workshops have included Using Your Overlocker, Working with Stretch Fabrics and Draping on the Stand.
Sign up to the newsletter below to be the first to hear about upcoming masterclass dates and new workshops.
If there’s something in particular that you’d like to learn, I’d also love to hear from you. You can contact me directly with your ideas or suggest an idea for a future masterclass that we could consider running.
My extensive experience in the costume industry continues to shape and strengthen my knowledge of sewing, pattern cutting and garment construction. Alongside teaching, I continue to design and make every week, keeping my approach new and relevant to industry standards.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced sewer, you’ll be supported to develop your skills, work through your own projects and gain practical, transferable knowledge in both dressmaking, pattern cutting and sewing.
I work closely with each student, moving around the class to offer individual guidance and support, so everyone is considered, while also using group demonstrations to share techniques and ideas that everyone can benefit from.
